The OnSite® Dengue IgG Rapid Test (RUO) is a lateral flow immunoassay for the qualitative detection of IgG antibodies to dengue virus across all four serotypes (DENV-1, DENV-2, DENV-3, DENV-4) in human whole blood, serum, or plasma specimens.
This test provides valuable information on past dengue exposure and is particularly useful in research studies, surveillance, and pre-vaccination screening programs where identifying individuals with previous dengue infection is critical. With high sensitivity and specificity, it can detect both monotypic immune profiles (single exposure, high risk for severe dengue on reinfection) and multitypic profiles (multiple exposures).
Key Features
- Targeted Detection: Identifies anti-dengue IgG antibodies, indicating past infection.
- Comprehensive Coverage: Detects antibodies against all four dengue virus serotypes.
- Pre-Vaccination Screening Tool: Supports research programs evaluating dengue vaccination strategies.
- Rapid Results: Easy-to-read results in ~20 minutes.
- User-Friendly: Requires no equipment; suitable for minimally trained personnel.
- Specimen Flexibility: Works with whole blood (venous/fingerstick), serum, or plasma.
-
Storage & Stability:
- 2–30 °C long-term storage
- Temporary tolerance up to 45 °C
-
Performance:
- High Sensitivity – correctly identifies individuals with past exposure, including monotypic immune profiles.
- High Specificity – accurately rules out those with no dengue exposure.
- Minimal Cross-Reactivity – negligible interference from related flaviviruses (Zika, West Nile, Yellow Fever, Japanese Encephalitis) or unrelated diseases (e.g., COVID-19).
Applications
- Research Programs: Epidemiological studies and surveillance of dengue exposure.
- Pre-Vaccination Screening: Helps identify candidates with prior dengue exposure.
- Public Health Research: Assessment of population-level dengue immunity.
- Field Studies: Rapid, reliable tool for use in endemic regions with limited infrastructure.
- Clinical Research & Training: Non-diagnostic support for healthcare provider education.
The OnSite® Dengue IgG Rapid Test (Research Use Only) is a fast, reliable, and practical research tool for identifying past dengue infections. By detecting anti-dengue IgG antibodies across all four serotypes, it provides essential insights for researchers, vaccination programs, and epidemiological studies. Its ease of use, high specificity, and strong sensitivity make it an excellent choice for studies aimed at monitoring dengue exposure and supporting pre-vaccination screening strategies.
