The Liofilchem™ MTS™ Lefamulin LMU MIC Test Strips are quantitative antimicrobial susceptibility testing devices designed to determine the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) of Lefamulin, a pleuromutilin-class antibiotic, against clinically relevant bacterial isolates. These strips provide a precise and reliable method for assessing bacterial susceptibility using a predefined antibiotic gradient concentration range of 0.016–256 µg/mL, enabling accurate therapeutic decision-making and antimicrobial resistance monitoring.
Based on the well-established agar diffusion gradient method, each strip contains a continuous exponential gradient of Lefamulin immobilized on a calibrated plastic carrier. When applied to an inoculated agar surface (typically Mueller-Hinton agar), the antibiotic diffuses into the medium and inhibits bacterial growth in a concentration-dependent manner. After incubation, an elliptical inhibition zone forms, and the MIC value is read directly at the point where the ellipse intersects the calibrated scale on the strip.
Liofilchem MTS™ MIC strips are manufactured under strict quality control conditions to ensure reproducibility, accuracy, and compliance with internationally recognized standards such as CLSI® and EUCAST. These strips are widely used in clinical microbiology laboratories, research institutions, pharmaceutical development, and antimicrobial resistance surveillance programs.
