Liofilchem™ MTS™ (MIC Test Strip) for Cefoperazone–Sulbactam (2:1) is a quantitative diagnostic tool used to determine the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of bacterial isolates against the combination antibiotic Cefoperazone–Sulbactam.
Each strip contains a continuous exponential gradient of Cefoperazone–Sulbactam (2:1 ratio) ranging from 0.016 to 256 µg/mL, allowing precise MIC value determination through direct reading where the elliptical inhibition zone intersects the scale.
The test provides reproducible, accurate, and standardized MIC data, essential for guiding antimicrobial therapy and resistance monitoring, in accordance with CLSI and EUCAST recommendations.
Key Features
- Combination antibiotic gradient: Cefoperazone and Sulbactam (2:1 ratio).
- MIC range: 0.016–256 µg/mL.
- Quantitative method—accurate determination of bacterial susceptibility.
- Complies with CLSI and EUCAST performance standards.
- Ready-to-use, single-use test strips—no reconstitution or dilution required.
- Compatible with manual and automated incubation systems.
- ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certified manufacturing.
Principle of the Method
The Liofilchem™ MTS™ (MIC Test Strip) applies the antibiotic gradient diffusion principle, combining the simplicity of the Kirby–Bauer method with the quantitative accuracy of the broth microdilution technique.
When the strip is placed on an inoculated agar plate (e.g., Mueller–Hinton Agar), an elliptical inhibition zone forms, and the MIC value is read directly from the printed scale at the point of intersection.
This method provides a precise MIC measurement for both clinical and research microbiology applications.
