Liofilchem® Cefsulodin CSD 30 µg discs are high-quality, ready-to-use paper discs for antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) using the Kirby-Bauer disk diffusion method on Mueller-Hinton agar. These discs are impregnated with 30 µg of Cefsulodin, a third-generation, narrow-spectrum cephalosporin antibiotic particularly effective against Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Yersinia enterocolitica.

Cefsulodin exerts its antimicrobial action by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, and inducing cell lysis. It is especially useful in clinical microbiology for monitoring resistance patterns and guiding therapeutic decisions in infections where Pseudomonas spp. are involved.
