IgG-binding, unstained protein standard for western blot detection and protein sizing
The Invitrogen™ MagicMark™ XP Western Protein Standard contains nine recombinant proteins ranging from 20 to 220 kDa, each engineered with an IgG binding site. These binding sites allow the proteins to be detected directly on a western blot using the same primary or secondary antibodies as the target protein.
This direct visualization capability eliminates the need for separate stain visualization and ensures accurate protein size estimation within western blot workflows. The standard is supplied in a ready-to-use format, requiring no heating, reducing, or buffer addition before loading.
MagicMark™ XP is compatible with a wide range of western blot detection methods—including chemiluminescent, chromogenic, and fluorescent substrates—making it versatile for different imaging platforms (note: not recommended for fluors in the 500–550 nm channel).
