Nocive Brewers Bacteria Agar Base from Sigma-Aldrich is a powdered, non-sterile, selective culture medium developed for the detection and enumeration of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) and other bacterial beer spoilers, including Pediococcus, Lactobacillus, Leuconostoc, and Lactococcus species. Preparation Instructions
- Suspend 66.3 g of the medium in 500 mL of distilled water and 500 mL of degassed beer.
- Mix thoroughly and heat with frequent agitation until completely dissolved.
- Sterilize in an autoclave at 121 °C for 15 minutes.
- Cool to 50 °C and pour into sterile Petri dishes.
