The Invitrogen™ EnzChek™ Gelatinase/Collagenase Assay Kit is a sensitive, convenient, and rapid fluorometric assay for measuring gelatinase or collagenase activity in purified enzyme systems, cell or tissue lysates, and for high-throughput inhibitor screening.
This kit uses a fluorescein-labeled DQ™ gelatin conjugate, heavily labeled to quench fluorescence until enzymatic digestion releases bright, highly fluorescent peptide fragments. This enables real-time monitoring of protease activity with minimal background interference.
The DQ™ gelatin substrate is also available separately (Cat. No. D-12054), making this kit adaptable for extended studies.
