BreatheBite Disposable Mouthpiece With Tongue Depressor

The BreatheBite mouthpiece securely places the tongue below the lip for spirometry maneuvers.

The BreatheBite combines the flange-style mouthseal with a built-in tongue depressor and a bilateral bite block to achieve superior air flow during expiration and inspiration. The built-in bite block on both sides sit near the lateral incisor and the canine to prevent the teeth obstruction the air flow.

An obstruction of the mouthpiece by the tongue may lead to misshapen curves and reduced FEV1 and FEV1/FVC that could be misinterpreted as "obstructive impairment."1 Such an obstruction can also underestimate or overestimate FEV1 and FEV1/FVC and render them "neither acceptable or usable."2
