Thermo Scientific™ Oxoid™ Factor Test Discs are high-quality chromogenic paper discs impregnated with growth factors essential for the identification and differentiation of Haemophilus species and other fastidious bacteria in clinical microbiology.

Used in disc diffusion factor testing, these discs help determine an organism’s dependency on X Factor (hemin), V Factor (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide – NAD), or both (XV Factor) for growth. The test is commonly performed on enriched agar using a quad plate setup or satellite test method to aid presumptive identification.

Each disc is housed in a spring-loaded, shatterproof cartridge, ensuring sterile, accurate placement on the agar surface. Discs are foil-wrapped with desiccant for long-term integrity and optimal antimicrobial factor preservation.
