Rapid latex agglutination test for the identification of Legionella spp. from clinical and environmental isolates

The Thermo Scientific™ Legionella Latex Test is a qualitative latex slide agglutination assay designed for the rapid differentiation and confirmation of predominant Legionella serogroups grown on selective agar. It is used to aid in the identification of Legionella pneumophila and other clinically relevant Legionella species from patient samples or environmental sources, in accordance with standard microbiological diagnostic workflows.

The test allows separate identification of L. pneumophila serogroup 1, serogroups 2–14, and detection of seven additional Legionella species implicated in human disease.
