Rapid Identification of Staphylococcus aureus, Including MRSA and MSSA Strains
The Thermo Scientific™ Staphaurex™ Plus Latex Agglutination Test is a qualitative, rapid slide agglutination assay used for the differentiation of Staphylococcus aureus from other staphylococcal species. The test is designed to detect clumping factor, protein A, and surface antigens specific to S. aureus, including both methicillin-resistant (MRSA) and methicillin-sensitive (MSSA) strains.
This assay is based on yellow latex particles sensitized with human fibrinogen and IgG, which react with target antigens to produce clear, visible agglutination in positive samples. In the absence of these antigens, the suspension remains smooth, ensuring high contrast and ease of interpretation.
Key Features & Benefits
