High-performance rosamine- and carbocyanine-based fluorescent probes for live-cell mitochondrial staining and localization
Invitrogen™ MitoTracker™ dyes are cell-permeant, mitochondria-selective fluorescent probes designed for live-cell labeling and mitochondrial localization in fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, and microplate-based assays. These dyes accumulate in active mitochondria, providing robust and specific staining for mitochondrial visualization in multicolor imaging and cell analysis workflows.
MitoTracker dyes are available in rosamine-based and carbocyanine-based formats, with variants optimized for fixation-retention or live-cell only applications. The inclusion of a chloromethyl moiety in many MitoTracker dyes allows covalent binding to mitochondrial proteins, enabling staining retention after loss of mitochondrial membrane potential and during aldehyde fixation.
