System Description
Each test panel consists of a clear plastic tray with multiple wells pre-filled with enzyme-specific substrates. When inoculated with a standardized suspension of the test organism in RapID Inoculation Fluid (R8325106), enzymatic reactions are initiated. Following a four-hour incubation at appropriate conditions (or two hours for specific strains like RapID SS/u), the wells are assessed visually for color changes. Some reactions may require the addition of developer reagents.
The resulting pattern of positive and negative color reactions is compared to a database or interpreted using the RapID ERIC™ software or Code Compendium for final organism identification.
