How It Works
CellTrace™ CFSE (carboxyfluorescein diacetate succinimidyl ester) diffuses into live cells and binds covalently to intracellular proteins. Upon each cell division, the dye is equally distributed between daughter cells, resulting in a halved fluorescence intensity—this enables the monitoring of sequential cell divisions using flow cytometry.

Staining Protocol Highlights
- Reconstitute dye in DMSO.
- Incubate cells (in protein-free media) with 1 µL dye per 1 mL cell suspension for 20 minutes at room temperature.
- Quench excess dye with complete medium.
- Analyze via flow cytometry using 488 nm excitation and 517 nm emission settings.
