Gibco™ IMDM (Iscove’s Modified Dulbecco’s Medium) is a highly enriched cell culture medium designed to support rapidly proliferating, high-density cell cultures, including Jurkat, COS-7, and macrophage cells. It is a modification of Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle Medium (DMEM) and is formulated with additional amino acids, vitamins, and selenium, making it suitable for a wide range of cell culture applications.

IMDM does not contain proteins, lipids, or growth factors, and therefore requires supplementation—commonly with 10% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS). It uses a sodium bicarbonate buffer system (3.024 g/L) and requires a 5–10% CO₂ environment to maintain physiological pH.

This formulation contains L-glutamine, phenol red, high glucose, HEPES, and sodium pyruvate but lacks α-thioglycerol and 2-mercaptoethanol.
