Fifth-dye labeled size standard for precise and reproducible fragment analysis
The Applied Biosystems™ GeneScan™ 500 LIZ™ Dye Size Standard is a fifth-dye-labeled size standard designed for highly reproducible sizing of DNA fragments in the 35–500 nucleotide range for fragment analysis applications.
It contains 16 single-stranded DNA fragments (35, 50, 75, 100, 139, 150, 160, 200, 250, 300, 340, 350, 400, 450, 490, and 500 nucleotides), each labeled with the LIZ™ fluorophore. When run under denaturing conditions, each fragment generates a single peak for accurate sizing curve generation.
The fifth-dye LIZ™ labeling enables multiplexing with fragments labeled using FAM™, VIC™, NED™, or PET™ dyes, allowing genotyping of a greater number of markers per lane compared to four-dye systems.
