The Invitrogen™ DynaMag™-96 Side Magnet is a precision-engineered magnetic separation tool designed for use with Dynabeads™ (1–4.5 μm) in 96-well plates or PCR strip tubes. Unlike conventional magnetic racks that attract beads to the bottom of wells, this device pulls beads to the side walls of wells—making it particularly well-suited for high-wash volume applications and hands-free mixing workflows.
It is compatible with 200 µL non-skirted and half-skirted PCR plates and PCR strip tubes, and integrates seamlessly with automated liquid handling systems (e.g., Tecan), as well as manual laboratory workflows. Note: it is not compatible with individual PCR tubes.
The device is designed with 13 columns instead of the typical 12, enabling lateral movement of the plate from right to left. This movement facilitates the transfer of beads through liquid without pipetting or agitation, making the DynaMag™-96 Side Magnet ideal for bead-based mixing and high-throughput sample preparation.
