Vitamin K 1% Supplement is a ready-to-use 1% ethanol solution of vitamin K designed to enrich Schaedler Agar Base (Ref. 610043, 620043) and other anaerobic culture media. It is an essential additive for promoting the growth of strict anaerobes, including Bacteroides spp., Clostridium spp., and Prevotella melaninogenica. When added to enriched media such as blood-supplemented Schaedler Agar, it provides optimal conditions for recovering fastidious anaerobic microorganisms from clinical and non-clinical specimens.

Instructions for Use
- Autoclave Schaedler Agar Base and cool to 45–50 °C.
- Aseptically add 1 mL of Vitamin K 1% Supplement per 1 L of medium.
- Add 5% defibrinated sheep blood (e.g., Ref. 83296) and other supplements as required.
- Mix thoroughly and dispense into sterile Petri dishes.
