The medium enhances motility-based enrichment, allowing Salmonella to migrate through the medium ahead of competing microorganisms and form distinct halos of growth.

    Preparation Instructions

    1. Suspend 31.5g of dehydrated medium in 1 litre of distilled water.
    2. Heat to dissolve the medium completely.
    3. Autoclave at 121°C for 15 minutes.
    4. Cool to 45–50°C, mix thoroughly, and pour into sterile Petri dishes.
