Working Principle
The PULVERISETTE™ 5 operates based on the planetary ball milling principle, where grinding bowls rotate on their own axis while simultaneously revolving in the opposite direction on a main disk.
This dual motion generates intense impact and friction forces, causing grinding balls to accelerate and collide with the sample material at high speed. The result is rapid size reduction and effective homogenisation, even down to sub-micron and nano-scale particles (<0.1 µm).
Applications
The PULVERISETTE™ 5 is ideal for:
- Geology and mineralogy
- Metallurgy and mechanical alloying
- Ceramics and advanced materials
- Nanotechnology and material science
- Pharmaceuticals and life sciences
- Chemistry and chemical processing
- Biological sample preparation
