Engineered HEK293 Cell Line for Rapid Generation of Stable, High-Expressing Clones
The Invitrogen™ Flp-In™-293 cell line is a human embryonic kidney (HEK293)–derived cell line engineered to contain a single Flp Recombination Target (FRT) site stably integrated at a transcriptionally active genomic locus. Designed for use with Flp-In™ expression vectors, this system enables rapid and efficient generation of stable cell lines that exhibit consistent and high-level expression of a gene of interest.
Flp-In™-293 cells were developed by transfecting parental 293 cells with pFRT/lacZeo, followed by selection of Zeocin™-resistant clones. The engineered FRT site enables targeted integration of your gene of interest via Flp recombinase-mediated recombination, significantly simplifying stable clone generation and ensuring reproducibility across experiments.
