The ONT MinION/GridION Flow Cell (DNA) – FLO-MIN114 is a high-performance sequencing consumable designed for use with Oxford Nanopore Technologies MinION and GridION sequencing devices. Each flow cell contains a sophisticated sensor array integrated with an Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) and R10 nanopores, enabling real-time DNA sequencing with high accuracy and throughput.
The R10 nanopore architecture features a double reader-head configuration, improving base-calling resolution and enabling highly accurate sequence detection. When used with Oxford Nanopore Kit 14 sequencing chemistry, this flow cell delivers modal accuracy above 99%, making it suitable for demanding genomic and epigenomic applications.
The FLO-MIN114 flow cell supports a wide range of ONT V14 sequencing kits, including ligation, rapid sequencing, PCR-based workflows, and barcoding kits. The system enables real-time sequencing, allowing users to monitor data as it is generated and stop the experiment once sufficient data has been collected.
Key Features
R10 Nanopore Technology

- Enhanced consensus accuracy for DNA sequencing
- Supports high-fidelity genomic and epigenomic analysis
High-Accuracy Sequencing
- Modal accuracy >99% with Kit 14 chemistry
- Real-time nanopore sequencing
- High sensitivity for complex genomic applications
Real-Time Data Streaming
- Sequencing data generated immediately during runs
- Users can monitor progress in real time
- Runs can be stopped once enough data has been generated
Long Sequencing Runtime
- Typical run time up to ~72 hours under optimal conditions
- Allows continuous sequencing or run–stop–wash–reload workflows
Flexible Sample Processing
- Compatible with multiple library preparation methods
- Supports DNA sequencing, barcoding, and targeted workflows
How It Works
- The user prepares a DNA library using compatible ONT sequencing kits.
- The library is loaded onto the flow cell installed in the MinION or GridION device.
- DNA molecules pass through nanopores embedded in the flow cell membrane.
- As DNA passes through each nanopore, changes in ionic current are detected.
- These electrical signals are converted into DNA sequence data by base-calling software.
Sequencing results are generated in real time, allowing researchers to analyze data immediately.
