How It Works

The system consists of a clear plastic tray with reagent-impregnated wells. Each well is inoculated simultaneously using a standardized suspension of the test organism in RapID™ Inoculation Fluid. Enzymatic reactions are initiated upon hydration. After incubation, test wells are assessed visually for color changes. Certain tests may require reagent additions to visualize endpoints. The pattern of positive and negative reactions is matched with a database via the RapID™ ERIC™ software or manual lookup.
