Thermo Scientific™ N-Fmoc-S-Trityl-L-Cysteine is a protected cysteine derivative used in solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS), proteomics research, protein engineering, bioconjugation, and pharmaceutical development. It features Fmoc protection on the α-amino group and trityl protection on the cysteine thiol side chain, enabling controlled peptide elongation while helping prevent premature oxidation or unwanted thiol side reactions.

Cysteine is an important amino acid in peptide and protein chemistry due to its role in disulfide bond formation, protein folding, enzyme activity, and site-specific modification.
