The Thermo Scientific™ DTT (DL-Dithiothreitol; Cleland’s Reagent) is a versatile and highly effective reducing agent used to stabilize enzymes and proteins containing free sulfhydryl (-SH) groups. By quantitatively reducing disulfide bonds and maintaining monothiols in a reduced state, DTT preserves protein function and prevents oxidative inactivation during experimental workflows.

At a final concentration of 0.1 M, DTT is widely used for protein denaturation in SDS-PAGE by disrupting disulfide linkages. This product is free of endo- and exodeoxyribonucleases, ribonucleases, and phosphatases, making it suitable for sensitive biochemical and molecular biology applications.
