Phenazine ethosulfate is a cationic dye and a chemical electron acceptor. It is used in dye-linked enzyme assays.[1] At a high pH, the dye produces free radicals, which may be the actual electron acceptors.[2][3]
Application
Phenazine ethosulfate has been used:
- in the spectrophotometric assessment of Plasmodium falciparum lactate dehydrogenase activity[4]
- to study the use of the dye during culture of embryos on fetal and postnatal calf development[5]
- to test and validate a fluorescence approach to quantify lipid content of individual bovine oocytes and blastocysts[6]
