Bright, stable dye for tracing multiple generations in vitro or in vivo by flow cytometry

The Invitrogen™ CellTrace™ Yellow Cell Proliferation Kit provides a robust, high-resolution method for tracking cell division over multiple generations in in vitro and in vivo studies. This amine-reactive fluorescent dye permeates cell membranes, covalently binds to intracellular proteins, and is stably retained throughout the cell cycle. Upon each cell division, the dye is equally partitioned between daughter cells, resulting in halved fluorescence intensity that can be quantified by flow cytometry.

The dye is optimized for excitation with 532 nm or 561 nm lasers and has an emission maximum at ~579 nm, enabling easy multiplexing with FITC, Alexa Fluor™ 488, GFP, and other common fluorophores without significant spectral overlap. The bright, single-peak fluorescence enables clear visualization of six or more generations of proliferating cells before signal is obscured by autofluorescence.
