These reagents employ the DPD colorimetric method, where iodine reacts to produce a measurable pink colour. The HI-718 photometer measures this colour intensity and reports iodine concentration directly in ppm (mg/L). Each packet is individually labelled with lot number and expiry date for full traceability and quality assurance.

Tips for Accurate Measurements

To ensure optimal performance and measurement accuracy:

• Ensure the water sample is free from debris
• Clean the outside of the cuvette with a lint-free cloth (e.g., HI-731318) before placing it in the meter
• Avoid bubbles—remove by gently swirling or tapping the cuvette
• Do not let the reacted sample sit too long; readings must be taken promptly
• Discard reacted samples immediately to avoid permanent staining of the glass

Measurement Procedure (Four Steps. One Click. Instant Readout.)

1. Insert the cuvette into the Checker®HC and press the button to zero
2. Add 10 mL of sample water and the HI-718-25 reagent packet
3. Insert the cuvette back into the Checker®HC
4. Press the button — the iodine concentration is displayed instantly
