The Thermo Scientific™ DrySpot™ Legionella pneumophila Serogroup 1 Latex Agglutination Test is a qualitative latex slide agglutination assay designed for the rapid confirmatory identification of L. pneumophila serogroup 1, the strain most frequently implicated in Legionnaires’ disease.
Suitable for use with colonies grown on selective agar from clinical or environmental sources, the test employs blue latex particles sensitized with specific rabbit antibodies that agglutinate visibly when the corresponding L. pneumophila serogroup 1 antigens are present. Built-in negative control areas contain non-reactive globulins to ensure specificity and reliability of results.
