Mueller Hinton Agar (MHA) is the gold standard medium for Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing (AST), widely used in clinical and research settings. It is designed to meet both EUCAST and CLSI standards and is suitable for the Kirby-Bauer method and other internationally recognized AST procedures.

    Key Features:

    1. Standardization: Conforms to CLSI and EUCAST guidelines for AST, ensuring reliable and reproducible results.
    2. Applications:
      • Disc diffusion testing
      • Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) testing
    3. Starch Inclusion: Absorbs toxic factors produced during microbial growth, enabling growth from small inocula.
    4. Clinical Utility: Recommended for testing a broad range of microorganisms, including:
      • Staphylococcus aureus (e.g., ATCC®25923)
      • Escherichia coli (e.g., ATCC®25922)
      • Pseudomonas aeruginosa (e.g., ATCC®27853)
      • Streptococcus pneumoniae
      • Haemophilus influenzae
