The Autobio AUTOF MS Reagent Series is designed to support MALDI-TOF Mass Spectrometry Microbial Identification Systems, such as the Autobio AUTOF MS1000 and AUTOF MS2000, enabling rapid and accurate identification of bacteria, fungi, and mycobacteria.

These reagents are optimized to streamline the sample preparation, calibration, and matrix application processes required for Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) microbial identification.

With precise formulation and consistency, the AUTOF MS reagent line ensures accurate spectral acquisition, improved reproducibility, and high-quality microbial identification at the species level.

Background

Traditional phenotypic and biochemical identification methods can take several hours or even days to produce results. The MALDI-TOF MS technology, combined with Autobio’s optimized reagents, allows the creation of unique microbial spectral fingerprints—mainly ribosomal proteins—within minutes.

This technology supports direct identification from positive blood cultures, enhancing infection management and antimicrobial stewardship in clinical microbiology laboratories.
