Applied Biosystems™ AmpErase™ Uracil N-Glycosylase (UNG), 100 Units

The Applied Biosystems™ AmpErase™ Uracil N-Glycosylase (UNG) is a 26 kDa recombinant enzyme designed to eliminate PCR carry-over contamination and prevent false-positive results in nucleic acid amplification workflows. Encoded by the E. coli uracil N-glycosylase gene and expressed in E. coli, this ultrapure enzyme catalyzes the removal of uracil residues from both single- and double-stranded DNA, leaving abasic sites that are subsequently degraded by heat.

AmpErase™ UNG is a core component of the GeneAmp™ PCR Carry-over Prevention Kit (available separately) and has been optimized for use with GeneAmp™ PCR core reagents and instrument systems.
