The Microdisc® Mixed Cellulose Ester (MCE) Gridded Membrane Filters are composed of cellulose acetate and cellulose nitrate, providing an optically uniform, biologically inert membrane suitable for a wide range of microbiological, analytical, and environmental testing applications.

These sterile, single-use membranes are widely used in colony counting, particle monitoring, and microbiological examination, particularly in water and wastewater testing.

The gridded surface pattern (3.1 mm spacing) allows for easy, accurate colony counting, while the nontoxic, non-inhibitory grid ink ensures optimal bacterial growth without interference.

Available in both white and black membranes and a range of pore sizes from 0.22 µm to 1.0 µm, Microdisc® MCE filters are ideal for sterilizing filtration, microbial enumeration, and particle analysis.

Key Features

  • Biologically Inert Composition: Made of mixed cellulose esters for chemical compatibility and consistent retention performance.
  • High Contrast Grid Lines: Clearly defined 3.1 mm grid pattern enhances visibility and reduces eye strain during colony counting.
  • Smooth, Uniform Surface: Promotes even particle and microorganism distribution for accurate quantification.
  • Low Background & High Recovery: Suitable for both white and black contrast assays, ensuring clear visualization of colonies.
  • Sterile & Ready to Use: Individually packed for aseptic microbiological procedures.
  • Broad Compatibility: Equivalent to membranes from Millipore, Sartorius, Pall, and Whatman.
  • Wide Application Range: Suitable for bacterial, yeast, and mold analysis, as well as environmental and QC filtration.
