Target Information – CD4
CD4 is a glycoprotein expressed on the surface of T helper cells, as well as some monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. It plays a critical role in T cell activation, antigen presentation, and HIV entry. In mice, CD4 expression is tightly regulated and can be detected in thymus, spleen, lymph nodes, and peripheral immune tissues.
Binding of the GK1.5 clone to CD4 is known to block interaction with clone RM4-5, a feature important for experimental design in multiplex staining panels.
