The Invitrogen™ RNA Rapid Extraction Solution is designed to release RNA from Ambion® Whatman® FTA® Cards, enabling quick recovery of high-quality RNA for downstream molecular biology applications. This solution is optimized for use with a wide variety of sample types stored on FTA® Cards, including blood, cultured cells, buccal cells, plant material, bacteria, plasmids, microorganisms, solid tissue, and viral particles.
The protocol is extremely fast—simply drop punched disks from FTA® cards into the RNA Rapid Extraction Solution and agitate for 5 minutes to release RNA into solution. The integrity of the RNA is preserved, and the extract can then be further purified using downstream isolation kits, such as the MagMAX™-96 Viral RNA Isolation Kit (AM1836).
