Invitrogen™ ezDNase™ Enzyme is a highly specific, recombinant double-strand-specific DNase designed for rapid and efficient removal of contaminating genomic DNA (gDNA) from RNA samples. It cleaves only double-stranded DNA into 2–8 bp fragments, preserving the integrity of RNA, cDNA, primers, and single-stranded nucleic acids in the reaction.
It is heat-labile and can be inactivated at 55°C, making it ideal for workflows that require clean, DNA-free RNA for RT-qPCR, cDNA synthesis, and other RNA-based applications.
Key Features
✅ Efficient Genomic DNA Removal
- Rapidly degrades double-stranded genomic DNA without degrading RNA
- Ensures clean RNA input for reverse transcription reactions
✅ Highly Specific to dsDNA
-
No impact on:
- RNA templates
- cDNA
- Primers
- Enables use in RNA cleanup prior to RT-qPCR without risk to sensitive nucleic acids
✅ Heat-Labile for Easy Inactivation
- Deactivated by incubation at 55°C, avoiding the need for DNase removal steps
- Simplifies workflows and improves reproducibility
✅ Compatible with Invitrogen RT Reagents
- Recommended for use with SuperScript™ IV VILO™ Master Mix and other Invitrogen reverse transcription kits
- Enhances cDNA synthesis accuracy by preventing gDNA-derived background amplification
