Thermo Scientific™ Pierce™ IP Lysis Buffer is a ready-to-use mammalian whole-cell lysis reagent optimized for preparing cell lysates for immunoprecipitation (IP), co-immunoprecipitation (Co-IP), pull-down assays, protein assays, immunoassays, and protein purification workflows.
Based on a modified RIPA buffer formulation without SDS, Pierce™ IP Lysis Buffer provides effective protein extraction while helping maintain protein complexes for downstream interaction studies. Its moderate-strength formulation solubilizes cytoplasmic, membrane, and nuclear proteins without liberating genomic DNA, reducing sample viscosity and improving handling during IP and pull-down workflows.

For workflows requiring protection from proteolysis or preservation of phosphorylation status, inhibitors such as Thermo Scientific™ Halt™ Protease Inhibitor Cocktail or Halt™ Phosphatase Inhibitor Cocktail may be added immediately before use.

Storage & Handling
Upon receipt, store at 4 °C. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use and avoid contamination during repeated pipetting or dispensing. Add protease or phosphatase inhibitors fresh before use when required by the experimental workflow.
