Highly sensitive, cell-permeant fluorogenic β-glucosidase substrate for biochemical and live-cell assays
Invitrogen™ FDGlu is a nonfluorescent, cell-permeant fluorogenic substrate specifically designed for β-glucosidase detection in biochemical assays and live-cell applications. Upon sequential enzymatic hydrolysis, FDGlu is first converted to fluorescein monoglucoside and then to highly fluorescent fluorescein (excitation/emission ~490/514 nm).
This conversion can be monitored via either fluorescence or absorbance, providing flexibility for various assay formats. FDGlu’s high sensitivity makes it ideal for detecting low levels of β-glucosidase activity in cell biology, enzymology, and microbiology research.
