This distilling apparatus is used to determine volatile oil in drugs by distillation of a weighed quantity of drug in contact with water.
- The Clevenger type receiver trap included in this apparatus is for use when the oils are lighter than water
- The condenser rests on top of the receiver
- There is a discharge stopcock below the return tube
- Flask and receiver are connected by a standard taper 24/40 joint
The receiver, graduated to 5 ml with 0.1 ml increments, has a tube connecting the lower part below the scale with the top of the vapour tube to return excess water to the flask.
Delivery information: The apparatus also includes a 300 ml round bottom flask and a finger type condenser.
