Selective supplement for isolation of Legionella spp. (ISO 11731 compliant)
The Liofilchem® Legionella AB Supplement (Ref. 81099) is a lyophilized selective additive designed for use with Legionella Growth Supplement (Ref. 80056) and Legionella BCYE Agar Base (Ref. 620049). Together, they form a complete selective medium for the detection and enumeration of Legionella spp. from clinical specimens and environmental water samples, in accordance with ISO 11731:2017.
Formulated with antibiotics and antifungal agents, this supplement suppresses background microflora while enabling reliable growth of Legionella colonies. It is suitable for routine water testing, public health monitoring, and diagnostic microbiology.

Preparation Instructions
- Reconstitute one vial with 5 mL sterile distilled water.
- Add the entire reconstituted vial to 90 mL autoclaved and cooled (45–50 °C) Legionella BCYE Agar Base.
- Add 10 mL of reconstituted Legionella Growth Supplement (Ref. 80056) to complete the medium.
- Mix thoroughly and dispense into Petri dishes.
Quality Control

- Escherichia coli WDCM 00012 → Partially to totally inhibited.
