The Liofilchem® Legionella BCYE Growth Supplement w/o L-Cysteine (Ref. 81091) is a lyophilized additive formulated for use with Legionella CYE Agar Base (Refs. 610125, 620125). When prepared, this complete medium enables the detection and enumeration of Legionella spp. from both clinical specimens and environmental water samples in compliance with ISO 11731.
By omitting L-cysteine, an essential growth factor for Legionella, this supplement supports a comparative growth method that confirms the identity of presumptive colonies. Colonies that fail to grow on this medium, while growing on BCYE medium with L-cysteine, can be regarded as Legionella.

Preparation Instructions
