    Thermo Scientific™ Oxoid™ Tryptone Soya Agar (TSA) is a general-purpose nutrient-rich medium suitable for the cultivation of a wide variety of microorganisms, including aerobes and anaerobes. It conforms to the standards of various international pharmacopoeias, making it suitable for pharmaceutical, clinical, and food microbiology applications.

    Preparation Instructions:

    1. Preparation of Dehydrated Medium:
      • Suspend 40 g of TSA powder in 1 liter of distilled water.
      • Heat to boiling with frequent stirring to dissolve completely.
      • Sterilize by autoclaving at 121°C for 15 minutes.
    2. Addition of Blood for Blood Agar:
      • Cool the sterilized medium to 45–50°C.
      • Add 7% sterile blood and mix gently.
    3. Chocolate Agar Preparation:
      • Heat blood-supplemented agar until the medium turns chocolate brown for optimal performance.

      • Suitable for the growth of a wide range of aerobes and anaerobes.
