Thermo Scientific™ Oxoid™ Ceftriaxone Antimicrobial Susceptibility Discs are high-quality diagnostic discs designed for manual antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) using the disc diffusion method (Kirby-Bauer). Each 6 mm paper disc is pre-impregnated with a standardized concentration of ceftriaxone, a third-generation cephalosporin used extensively in the treatment of serious Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacterial infections.

These discs are delivered in shatterproof, spring-loaded cartridges for sterile and easy application to inoculated agar. Each cartridge is individually sealed with a desiccant, maintaining a moisture level below 2% to ensure disc stability and performance over time.

Validated against global standards including CLSI, EUCAST, and DIN, these discs provide clear, reproducible zone readings, enabling the detection of resistance phenotypes, including ESBL-producing Enterobacteriaceae, and support informed antimicrobial therapy decisions.
