The Thermo Scientific™ Cefiderocol Antimicrobial Susceptibility Discs are designed for reliable in vitro antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) of multi-drug resistant (MDR) and extensively drug-resistant (XDR) aerobic Gram-negative bacteria. Cefiderocol is a siderophore cephalosporin specifically developed for serious infections where treatment options are limited, such as complicated urinary tract infections (cUTIs).
Each 6 mm disc is impregnated with 30 µg of cefiderocol and is supplied in shatterproof spring-loaded cartridges that simplify disc handling. The cartridges are individually sealed in foil blister packs with desiccant to maintain a moisture level below 2%, preserving disc stability over time.
These discs are manufactured under strict quality standards and have demonstrated excellent performance across multiple EUCAST disc quality studies, ensuring consistent and accurate results.
