    Usage Guidelines

    Preparation

    1. Suspend 13 g of powder in 1 liter of distilled or deionized water.
    2. Heat until completely dissolved.
    3. Dispense into sterile containers with or without Durham tubes.
    4. Autoclave at 121°C for 15 minutes.

    Technique

    1. Pre-enrichment:
      • Mix 25 g/mL of the sample with 225 mL of Lactose Broth and incubate at 35°C for 24 ± 2 hours.
    2. Enrichment:
      • Transfer 1 mL of the pre-enrichment broth into a suitable enrichment broth and incubate.
    3. Selective Plating:
      • Streak a loopful onto an appropriate agar plate.
